Since hitting all-time highs at around $20,000 USD on 12/7 and 12/16, the price of BTC has had a healthy correction (~50% correction from all time high to the low of $10,500 USD on 12/22), and seems to be in a consolidation phase. The 50 day simple moving average has been a consistent support for the BTC/USD price.
