Gold ahead of Fed Rate decisionFundamental analysis: My earlier Selling signal was confirmed on Hourly 4 chart under prolonged weakness and Price-action respecting the trendline guarding the downtrend (very Bearish formation) as Hourly 1 chart is already an aggressive Descending Channel (width opened on Williams) that should reach it’s next Lower High’s (currently Trading slightly below Triple Top's formation) and Oversold state near my take Profit of #2,627.80 Support in extension. If the bands are widened Traders may witness #2,622.80 pivot point test on the correction back down after current upside extension but not Lower. In any case I will update my Targets or levels of Profit taking if I decide to exit earlier than #2,622.80 Support in extension to be in accordance with the Daily chart’s period. My position: #2,648.80 was excellent re-Sell point and regarding Fed Rate decision, I expect Rate to be Lowered and hawkish stance on the aftermath which can make Gold suffer even more.

GOLD ROUTE MAP UPDATEHey Everyone, Another day smashed!!!!! Yesterday we hit 2661 after ema5 cross and lock above 2645, we then stated that we now had a gap left at 2679 after cross and lock above 2661, and as long as 2661 holds, we will look for this gap to be completed. - This was hit perfectly completing this target. We now have 2679 cross and lock opening 2697. We will keep the above in mind when taking buys from dips. Our updated levels and weighted levels will allow us to track the movement down and then catch bounces up. We will continue to buy dips using our support levels taking 30 to 40 pips. As stated before each of our level structures give 20 to 40 pip bounces, which is enough for a nice entry and exit. If you back test the levels we shared every week for the past 24 months, you can see how effectively they were used to trade with or against short/mid term swings and trends. Gold price analysis December 18Fundamental Analysis Gold prices rose on an overnight rebound from the $2,633 area, or above a one-week low, and attracted some buyers during the Asian session on Wednesday. The rise may have been due to some repositioning ahead of key central bank event risks, although the upside is likely to remain limited as traders may opt to await the outcome of the crucial two-day FOMC policy meeting later today. The Federal Reserve is widely expected to cut borrowing costs by 25 basis points and adopt a more cautious stance on future rate cuts. Technical Analysis As the previous analysis shows, gold prices are still in a downtrend until they close above 2690. 2664 is not seen as a key resistance zone at the moment. We have to wait until the 2673 and 2690 zones for the price to continue to be the focus zone of today for the main SELL strategies. The destination zone is 2633 and 2615 for the SELL strategies. GOLD corrects in 2 days, still has bullish conditions next weekOANDA:XAUUSD fell as the USD held steady at its highest level in more than 2 weeks. However, the market expects the Federal Reserve will still cut interest rates next week and gold prices still have conditions for a possible increase in price. OANDA:XAUUSD has broken multiple record highs this year, supported by Fed monetary policy, strong central bank buying and safe-haven demand. Traders currently assess a 96% chance that the Fed will cut interest rates by 25 basis points at its December 17-18 meeting. Focus will also be on Chairman Jerome Powell's comments as market participants analyze US monetary policy in 2025, especially given President-elect Donald Trump's tariff plans , is very likely to add to inflation. Central banks often keep interest rates high to curb inflation, thereby increasing the opportunity cost of holding unprofitable gold. Pay special attention to the upcoming Fed interest rate decision The Fed's monetary policy statement next week could be the last major impact for gold this year outside of unforeseen geopolitical surprises. Next Wednesday, the Federal Reserve will announce its monetary policy decision after a two-day policy meeting. The Fed is expected to cut its policy rate by 25 basis points to a range of 4.25%-4.5%. The Fed will also release a revised Summary of Economic Projections (SEP), known as a Dotplot chart. In September, SEP showed that Fed officials' median forecast for the policy rate at the end of 2025 was 3.4%. If the 2025 interest rate forecast is revised downward, i.e. cutting interest rates by more than 100 basis points, it could have a direct negative impact on the Dollar and this would push gold prices higher. Markets will also be closely watching comments from Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. If Powell takes a cautious approach to further policy easing, emphasizing a gradual approach, the dollar is likely to remain strong as it remains supported by President-elect Donald Trump. On the other hand, the US Dollar will come under selling pressure if Powell expresses growing concerns about the cooling labor market and its potential negative impact on the growth outlook. Data next week Next Thursday, the US Bureau of Economic Analysis will release the final revised data on gross domestic product (GDP) for the third quarter, and next Friday will release the personal consumption expenditures price index (PCE). The economic calendar needs attention next week Monday: Empire State manufacturing survey, S&P flash PMI Tuesday: US retail sales Wednesday: Federal Reserve monetary policy decision Thursday: Bank of England monetary policy decision; US weekly unemployment claims; US Q3 GDP, Philly Federal Reserve Manufacturing Survey, Existing Home Sales Friday: Personal consumption expenditure index (PCE) Analysis of technical prospects for OANDA:XAUUSD On the daily chart, gold closed the week in a crucial position for upside as it still has bullish conditions. Specifically, the daily chart still shows that gold prices maintain activity above EMA21 and above the technical level of 2,644 USD. Note to readers in the previous edition. In addition, the Relative Strength Index decreased but stayed above 50, which does not show any negative signals. In the near term, if gold brings price activity back above the 0.50% Fibonacci retracement level, it will have the conditions to recover more to the $2,676 level in the short term, more than the 0.382% Fibonacci level and the original price point. 2,700 USD. Overall, gold still has a bullish outlook. However, a negative situation is likely to appear once gold breaks below the 0.618% Fibonacci level because it will tend to retest the 0.786% Fibonacci level with a price point of 2,591USD. XAU/USD 17.12.24OANDA:XAUUSD Hello Traders, For the upcoming week, my Elliott Wave analysis suggests higher prices. Three days ago, I shared my long-term chart projection. Now, I’ve broken it down into the minor timeframes to refine the best entry points for my strategy. If you're curious about the current wave we're in, feel free to check out my previous post: Currently, I anticipate the formation of the green Wave 1 to 2 over the next few days, with Wave 2 potentially reaching its bottom soon. We're observing a significant ABC correction. Within the larger Wave B to C, we’ve formed another perfect AB correction, which now appears to consist of a probable 1-2-3-4-5 wave structure. Today, the smaller Wave 3 hit our Fibonacci extension levels perfectly, as shown in the chart. At the moment, we’re experiencing a pullback in Wave 4, which I hope will lead to the completion of Wave 5 tomorrow. This would mark the end of the correction for the green Wave 1 to 2. A smart entry point would be around the 78.6% Fibonacci level, which also serves as a take-profit level at the 100% Fibonacci extension of the seller. This zone will be very volatile. If we gather enough momentum to establish a new Wave 1, we can definitely expect higher prices. Stay focused on the 2630 level, and good luck!
