CVX Found its ResistanceAs the government is opening its oil reserve to bring the oil price down. CVX tries to break the $175 level which was not possible last week and we might see a pullback to around the $150 level.

Just an observation, CVX/TLSA (top) had a double bottom at .10 - during this time, tsla made new highs relative to SPX(bottom)
Interestingly tslaspx is headed towards new highs it looks like while CVX/TSLA is hovering around 0.15
The fact TSLA was 9% higher due to a stock split is laughable, and shows just how absurd these markets are.
I think the trend of CVX/TSLA is just getting started...from a longterm perspective it really cant get much more exhausted and finally people are waking up to how important oil still is in context of global energy.
CVX Found its ResistanceOn daily charts, CVX found its resistance around $170, and volume is decreasing. So we could see stock price will pull down around $140.
GO DOWNLooks to be exhausted, if nothing beyond the chart keeps pumping she will see a downwards trend at the break of the pennant.

Three reasons to short CVX stock.The first is that the price has reached the upper line of the uptrend channel.
The second is tight spreads on the January 26-27 high volume bars.
Third - the White House doesn't like prices too high because expensive gasoline increases consumer spending, which lowers the president's rating.
CVX stock price is at a record high because of high oil prices. But the chart says there are massive sell orders in the market that are holding back the uptrend. Perhaps it is profit taking by big players in anticipation of lower prices.
Fundamentals - Chevron earnings 1/28Chevron (CVX) earnings are tomorrow on 1/28 at 6am. Chevron (CVX) reported Q3 September 2021 earnings of $2.96 per share on revenue of $44.7 billion. The consensus earnings estimate was $2.21 per share on revenue of $40.4 billion. As you can see from this Fundamental analysis, Chevron has a high price right now with its P/E above average, based on the past 7 years. I'm posting this as short because there's hardly any upside left. Even with inflation worries CVX is trading at a higher P/E than many companies nowadays. I don't buy into dinosaur juice bulls thesis WTI absurd price target for the rest of the year.
