USDJPY Analysis==>>Falling Wedge PatternUSDJPY is moving in an Ascending Channel and Falling Wedge Pattern .
According to the theory of Elliott waves , USDJPY seems to have succeeded in completing corrective waves in the Falling Wedge Pattern .

GBPJPY Correction technically over. Buy opportunity. The GBPJPY pair is currently on a 3-week correction, the strongest and longest since the one that ended on the week of December 11 2023. That was also the last time the pair closed a 1W candle below the 1D MA50 (red trend-line).
As the long-term pattern is a 22-month Channel Up, every 1W candle closing below the 1D MA50 is a buy opportunity. The last Higher High was priced on the 1.5 Fibonacci extension from the first 1W closing below the 1D MA50. As a result we treat this as a new long-term buy opportunity with our Target at 210.000.

USDJPY But signal when the 1D MA50 breaks.Last time we looked at the USDJPY pair (May 22, see chart below), it gave us a solid buy signal at the bottom of its Channel Up:
Since then the price got rejected on Resistance 1 (161.950), forming a Diverging Higher Highs trend-line and pulled back below the 1D MA50 (blue trend-line) and at the bottom of the (blue) 7-month Channel Up.
Once the price breaks above the 1D MA50 and better yet the 1D RSI breaks above its MA period (yellow), we will have a new buy opportunity at our hands as in the past 4 occasions that has taken place, it was the absolute bullish break-out confirmation.
If it does again, we will buy and target 163.000 (contact with Diverging Higher Highs trend-line).

Strong JPY, Weak Nikkei. Trading Plans Post FallAs the JPY has gained value, on propping up rumours via Japan Authorities, we have seen a drop in the Nikkei.
The pro growth rates set by the BOJ have allowed the Japanese Nikkei to grow to higher highs continually, inline with the positive market sentiment spurred on by a better global economic outlook and a soft landing.
A retracement, however, would reflect some of the economic woes induced by low rates. Anything that turns this around will likely take us back to highs.
Conversely, a continuation of current sentiment will bring us lower. Any longs, therefore, must be tiny, if any. Save them till later.
Yen's Sudden Strength: Is the Bank of Japan Back in Action? The recent dramatic rise of the Japanese yen has sent ripples through the financial world. Three sharp surges – on July 11th, 12th, and 17th – have fueled speculation that the Bank of Japan (BoJ) is once again intervening in currency markets. These interventions have resulted in a 4% appreciation of the yen against the US dollar, bringing it to ¥156 per dollar. This is a significant rise, especially considering the yen's plunge to 37-year lows earlier in July.
While the BoJ hasn't explicitly confirmed its involvement, the timing and nature of the surges strongly suggest its influence. Central banks typically intervene in currency markets to achieve specific economic goals. In the case of Japan, the recent depreciation of the yen has become a cause for concern. A weaker yen makes imports more expensive, contributing to inflation. Additionally, it can destabilize financial markets and harm Japanese exporters who rely on a competitive exchange rate.
Possible Reasons for Intervention:
• Curbing Inflation: Japan has recently experienced a rise in inflation, exceeding the BoJ's target of 2%. A stronger yen makes imported goods cheaper, helping to ease inflationary pressures.
• Supporting Exporters: A weaker yen can initially benefit exporters by making their products cheaper overseas. However, a persistently weak currency can erode profitability in the long run. By stabilizing the yen, the BoJ might be aiming to create a more predictable environment for Japanese exporters.
• Signaling Resolve: The BoJ has maintained an ultra-loose monetary policy for years, keeping interest rates near zero. This policy has contributed to the yen's weakness. By intervening in the market, the BoJ might be sending a signal of its commitment to preventing further depreciation.
Potential Challenges and Implications:
• Market Backlash: Excessive intervention by the BoJ could be seen as manipulating the market. This could lead to a loss of confidence in the yen and potentially trigger counter-interventions by other central banks.
• Limited Effectiveness: The effectiveness of currency intervention is often debated. While it can achieve short-term results, it's difficult to sustain a stronger yen in the long run if underlying economic fundamentals don't support it.
• Impact on Global Markets: A stronger yen can have a ripple effect on global markets. It can make Japanese investments less attractive to foreign investors and potentially trigger capital outflows.
Looking Ahead:
The BoJ's recent actions have certainly bolstered the yen. However, it remains to be seen whether this can be sustained. The long-term trajectory of the yen will depend on various factors, including global economic conditions, interest rate policies, and investor sentiment. The BoJ might need to continue intervening if it wants to maintain a more stable exchange rate. However, it will have to tread carefully to avoid unintended consequences and potential market backlash.
In conclusion, the recent surge in the yen's value has reignited the debate about currency intervention. While the BoJ's actions might provide some temporary relief, the long-term outlook for the yen remains uncertain. The future path of the Japanese economy and global financial conditions will ultimately determine the fate of the yen.

NZDJPY Sell signal at the top of the Channel Up.The NZDJPY has been trading within a Channel Up pattern since the March 24 2023 bottom and today just made contact with its top (Higher Highs trend-line). We expect a strong rejection, similar to July 05 2023 that pulled-back all the way to the 0.5 Fibonacci retracement level and the 1D MA100 (green trend-line).
As a result, we treat today's rejection as a strong sell opportunity. Our Target is 95.580 (Fib 0.382).

CADJPY Strong sell opportunity at the top of the Channel UpThe CADJPY pair gave us an excellent buy signal last time we looked at it (May 30, see chart below) that easily hit our 116.500 Target:
Now it is flashing the opposite, a strong sell signal right after a Higher High (top trend-line) rejection on the 7-month Channel Up pattern. Ahead of a 1D MACD Bearish Cross, the opportunity becomes even more obvious.
Every Bearish Leg hit at least the 1D MA50 (blue trend-line) before making a Higher Low, so our Target is set at 115.500, which is an optimal level towards the final week of July.

CHFJPY Channel Up resuming towards 189.000The CHFJPY pair is about to end a short-term consolidation, which seems to be symmetrical with the first week of May 2023. The long-term pattern is a Channel Up since December 2022 and the Higher High on that sequence was priced on the 3.0 Fibonacci extension.
As you can see the 1D RSI sequences between the two Bullish Legs fractals are very similar and we are currently on a bounce formation similar to the May 11 2023 bottom. Our long-term Target is 189.000 (just below the 3.0 Fibonacci extension).

AUDJPY Approaching the long-term Sell ZoneThe AUDJPY pair gave us an excellent short-term sell signal last time (May 23, see chart below) but after that broke above the medium-term Channel Up aggressively:
We now need to zoom out to the longer term 1W time-frame, where we clearly see the dominant pattern of the pair, which has been a Channel Up since the March 16 2020 (COVID) market bottom. Each Higher High was formed when the 1W RSI started forming a Bearish Divergence on Lower Highs. The 1st Bullish Leg was priced after a +32.90% rise, while the 2nd one at +26.70%.
As a result, with the 1W RSI overbought above 70.00 for the 2nd time in 6 weeks, we believe that the pair is approaching its long-term Sell Zone on the Higher Highs region. Its Higher Lows have been priced near or on the 1W MA100 (green trend-line), so we will take this sell opportunity to target 101.000 (expected contact and breach of the 1W MA50 (blue trend-line)).

EURJPY On a very aggressive Bullish Leg.The EURJPY pair is extending the rise since the December 04 2023 Low, which was a Higher Low on the 27-month Channel Up. Technically, we are half-way on the new Bullish Leg of the pattern and as you can see the 1W MA50 (blue trend-line) has been the ultimate Support since its start.
The previous 2 Bullish Legs have rose by at least +19.30%, so we expect a similar development. Our Target is at 180.000 (marginally below the +19.30% mark).

Retail Traders Poised for Yen Rebound - Consider Shorting USDJPYI am writing to bring to your immediate attention a critical development in the forex market that could present a significant trading opportunity.
As many of you are aware, the recent slide in the Japanese yen has been a point of concern. This depreciation has heightened the probability of Japan intervening in the market once more to stabilize its currency. Historical patterns suggest that such interventions can lead to rapid and substantial movements in the yen's value.
Currently, it appears that retail traders are reloading their bets in anticipation of a rebound in the yen. This collective action underscores a growing sentiment that the yen is poised for a recovery, potentially driven by governmental measures to curb its decline.
Given these circumstances, it may be prudent to consider positioning yourselves for this anticipated rebound. Specifically, shorting the USD/JPY could be a strategic move. By doing so, you could potentially capitalize on the yen's resurgence if Japan steps in to support its currency.
I urge you to review your portfolios and assess the potential benefits of shorting USD/JPY in light of the current market dynamics. As always, ensure that any trading decisions are made with careful consideration and risk management.
Stay vigilant and informed. The forex market is highly dynamic, and timely actions can make a significant difference.
Is USD/JPY Trade of Decade? US Dollar Nears 34-Year High Again. If you’re a ‘90s baby, the yen is the weakest you’ve ever seen it. Putting it back with the cool guys in forex town isn’t going to be easy. In this Idea, we discover why.
Yen Languishes in 34-Year Lows
The Japanese yen is trading at a 34-year low against the stronger US dollar. This means that the volatile USD/JPY pair is flying high. Very high. To many, this is the opportunity of a lifetime — pop a short, load up on the leverage and go for the jugular (to use Soros slang ). Only that it’s not as easy as it looks.
So not-easy that there’s even a term for that. It’s called “widow maker trade” and it describes those unfortunate souls who dare to bet against the Bank of Japan in hopes of anticipating the right direction. It’s so difficult to predict the path of Japan’s interest rates that many have seen their fortunes wiped out in trying to do so.
So why’s the yen so badly hurt? Until recently, Japan’s central bank was the only one in the world to flaunt negative interest rates. It was holding on to an easy-money regime to stimulate economic growth — low to negative rates encourage businesses and consumers to borrow cheap money and spend it on whatever they want.
Biggest Loser on Forex Board
But this loose money policy has a downside — it makes the local currency highly unattractive. The Japanese yen is the biggest loser among the major currencies on the forex board so far in 2024. It’s down more than 13% against the dollar this year.
Against that backdrop, in March, the Bank of Japan abandoned its negative rate regime and hiked interest rates for the first time since 2007. The shift provided little relief to the yen.
The USD/JPY this week blasted beyond ¥159 and extended its winning streak to seven days in a row. But bulls’ efforts to carry the exchange rate above the ¥160 milestone might meet an archnemesis.
Japanese officials have been monitoring the speculative moves around the yen and have said many times they’re ready to intervene by buying boatloads of it. Traders, however, have already seen this play out. And they've seen the aftermath, too.
A Failed InterYention
In late April, the Japanese yen tumbled beyond the key ¥160 level to the dollar, hitting ¥160.20 — a low last seen in 1990. Japan then decided to lean against the skyrocketing dollar and sank as much as $60 billion going long the yen and shorting the dollar.
Briefly, the yen rose about 5% before bargain-hungry traders were back for more.
Moral of the story? The downturn of the yen is predictable and until the Bank of Japan introduces a more aggressive policy to buck the trend, it may remain vulnerable to attacks.
More of the Same?
Meanwhile, bullish traders are excited to try their hand at shooting the dollar-yen pair to a fresh 34-year high. It must be noted, however, that the exchange rate is overstretched and overbought. This skews the risk-reward ratio and makes the upside look fairly limited, at least in the short term. Or does it?
Zoom out, and you’ll see the yen was trading at ¥300 to the dollar back in the ‘70s. And that’s not something Japan wants to see now. A cheap yen is generally good for exports but it makes imports a lot more expensive. And that’s where the Asian economy is getting its technology, energy, cars, and many foods from.
Japanese officials, namely the Ministry of Finance, remain tight-lipped about any potential intervention. What’s more, the Bank of Japan joins the silence with no forward-looking guidance on future interest rate hikes.
And all this means one thing — yen volatility is bound to continue as traders engage in some extra spicy speculation fundamental price discovery.
Long or Short?
If you’re in the trade, which side are you on? Are you long the dollar-yen or short it? Let us know in the comments below!
NZDJPY Approaching the top of 3.5 years Channel Up. Strong sell. The NZDJPY pair is trading on the 4th straight green 1W candle and is approaching the top (Higher Highs trend-line) of the Channel Up pattern that started on November 2020. Even though it may extend to a +9.30% rise (the smallest long-term it had within the pattern), selling now offers excellent Risk/ Reward conditions. Our target is 92.000 (Higher Lows trend-line).

CADJPY Buy signal initiated. Channel Up intact. The CADJPY pair extended the Channel Up flawlessly and hit our latest Target (April 02, see chart below):
The price is now breaking above the short-term Ascending Triangle, which within the long-term Channel Up has always issued a buy signal after the price approached the 0.382 Fibonacci retracement level. The immediate Target on both previous break-outs has bee the -0.382 Fib extension.
The 1D RSI is also posting that pre break-out consolidation. As a result we turn bullish again on this pair, targeting 116.500 (slightly below the -0.382 Fib).
